Hello! My name is Eugene, but I also go by Pyth in the digital world.
Having graduated from UCLA with a degree in Political Science and English, I found myself torn between the California state house studying public policy and reading the slush pile at my local literary agency. A month before the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, that stalemate was broken when I decided with impeccable timing to move 3000 miles across the country to the Big Apple to seek a career in book publishing. Thankfully, that intuition did not fail me as I managed to get my foot in the door of that obscure and mysterious industry. After spending a few years working in the production / managing editorial department at Simon & Schuster, I've now departed on a new journey seeking a role in creating immersive worlds and stories in the games industry.
My biggest draw to story has always been its ability to build bridges. It engenders hope and helps one realize how deeply rich and expansive the interior worlds of various peoples and individuals can be across many eras. I also have a wicked hankering for all kinds of Fantasy and Science Fiction worlds, and routinely spend my free time day dreaming and writing about obscure lore that frankly few would care for. My current and largest dream is to collaborate with a team on bringing to life a wondrous and imaginative world that can serve as a player's second home. A world that even when cold, dark, and unfamiliar can aid in finding community and feel like found family.
When I'm not working my day job you can find me complaining about the state of White Mage in Final Fantasy XIV, brewing up Magic the Gathering Commander decks, or making last minute preparations for the two tabletop RPG campaigns that I run for my lovely friends.
